Doug Grissom Named Director At Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex

RALEIGH, NC (CelebrityAccess) — The city of Raleigh has promoted Doug Grissom to the post of director at the Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex. Grissom, who has been serving as the complex’s assistant director, took over his new post on June 6th.

Owned and operated by the City of Raleigh, the Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex in Downtown consists of the Raleigh Convention Center, Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, and Red Hat Amphitheater. The department also includes the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.

Mr. Grissom first joined the City of Raleigh in October 1988, working entirely the last 28 years at the City’s convention center facility. He started off as special projects and marketing manager and then became assistant director in June 2001.

Grissom also played a key role in the planning and development of the Raleigh Convention Center, the downtown music venue Red Hat Amphitheater and the expansion of the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

Doug Grissom has been appointed director of the Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex, City Manager Ruffin Hall announced today. Currently serving as the complex’s assistant director, Mr. Grissom will assume his new duties on Monday, June 6.
