Sony BMG Shuts Down Epic Nashville
NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Sony BMG is shuttering its Epic Nashville label and laying off about 20 employees at the imprint that houses artists such as Gretchen Wilson and Miranda Lambert.
Future releases from “relevant artists” will display the Columbia Nashville imprint, Sony BMG Nashville CEO Joe Galante said in a statement, according to Billboard.
The label group will now operate a total of four country imprints, including Arista Nashville, BNA, Columbia and RCA. Christian music powerhouse Provident Music Group will continue to operate under the Sony BMG Nashville umbrella.
