Rami Malek Wins Oscar, Falls Off Stage
LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Rami Malek, upon winning the Best Actor oscar for his role as Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody,” exited the stage at the Kodak Theatre the hard way, falling off the stage at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles Feb. 24.
Malek was photographed by Getty as he fell into the front row. He was helped up by others then took a chair while being treated by paramedics who then escorted him backstage, according to People.
Malek did not appear to be injured when he spoke of his win at the press room.
“The one thing I can say about this, as an actor, there are so many of us who dream of one thing. Perhaps it’s not this, it’s just getting a job,” he said. “The fact that I have this is beyond any expectation that myself or my family could have ever had. I’ll just say that.”
