In this guide, we’ll show you all of the locations with maps pinpointing the precise locations of everything you’ll be searching for.

How to get the Jack Hall Gang Treasure Mission

Beginning in Chapter 2, you can purchase the first treasure map from Maximo Cristobal Valdespino, a Stranger hanging out west of Flatneck Station, which is south of Valentine in The Heartlands. (You can see Maximo’s location in the gallery above.) Speak to him to buy the $10 map and begin the Jack Hall Gang Treasure/Treasure Hunter Mission.

Head to Caliban’s Seat, which is south of Valentine. Caliban’s Seat is a tall rocky region. Your goal is to climb it and find the hidden treasure.

Make your way up the rocks. When you see a small, abandoned camp, you’re in the right area. The nearby ground slopes down below the cliff. Follow that path. Jump over the gap in the rocks. On the other side, examine the cliff wall on your left.

You’ll reach up, recover some money, a Pearl Necklace and the Jack Hall Gang Map 2.

The second map leads you to Cotorra Springs, which is in the far north of the map, beyond Valentine and Fort Wallace.

It’s easy to find even if you haven’t been there before. Cotorra Springs is an area full of hot springs and geysers. When you get there, head to the area between the O and R in Cotorra on your map. You’ll see a few rock piles around you. Approach the one with the (relatively) flat (flattest?) top, and you’ll be able to search it.

When you do, you’ll receive some money and the Jack Hall Gang Map 3.

The third map leads you to O’Creagh’s Run, a lake north of Emerald Station (and Emerald Ranch) and west of Annesburg in Grizzlies East. It’s the lake where you may have met a Civil War veteran during your travels, too. (And if that’s the case, it’ll be labeled as Veteran’s Homestead on your map.)

There’s an island in the middle of the lake with a pair of trees growing out of it. That’s your destination. You can use your horse to swim there and save your Stamina. As soon as you’re out of the lake and on the dry land of the island, look at the ground for a Rock to examine.

When you do, you'll receive two Gold Bars, which you can sell for $500 each. You’ll also complete the Jack Hall Gang Treasure Mission.
