Meet Nick McGlashan Family
Nick McGlashan was born in 1987 as the second child of Late Bruce Lanford and June McGlashan in Anchorage, Alaska.
His father was a professional fisherman, so he was introduced to his fishing boots early.
During his formative years, Nick McGlashan resided in the town of Atukan, located in Alaska. When he was thirteen years old, he relocated to Ureka, Montana in the company of his father and sister, Mellisa.
Nick frequently joined his father aboard the fishing boat, where he enjoyed spending time with the crew.
McGlashan started working for Wild Bill on the Kodiak in 2011 and was soon promoted to the role of Deck Boss, with Bill referring to him as the “heart and soul” of the team.
He went to make appearances on several TV Series, such as Deadliest Catch and Bering Sea Gold and many viewers were captivated by his love for fishing.
Nick was injured shortly before the ship departed in Season 15 of “Deadliest Catch.”
His ankle was found to be only sprained, not broken, after undergoing an X-ray. He then equipped himself with crutches and resumed his duties on the boat.

Nick McGlashan Struggle With Drug Addiction And Cancer
Nick McGlashan had been battling substance abuse for a considerable period, which eventually culminated in the discovery of heroin on his property by the captain.
Following his expulsion from the ship in 2013, Nick McGlashan voluntarily admitted himself to a rehabilitation center, where he disclosed that he had a dependency on vodka, heroin, and methamphetamine and had even experienced three overdoses.
In 2017, Nick McGlashan experienced a severe health scare after a medical examination.
He was diagnosed with abnormal production of white blood cells. Many doctors speculated that it was a potential cancer symptom, but luckily, he didn’t get one because of the treatments in the initial stages.
After his recuperation, Nick expressed a sense of contentment and motivation, as he believed he had emerged from the ordeal stronger.
Regrettably, on December 27, 2020, Nick McGlashan passed away at the young age of 33, leaving behind two children and his legacy.
Although no immediate cause of death was disclosed, Nick was declared deceased in Nashville, Tennessee.
Subsequently, the autopsy report indicated that the cause of Nick’s demise was a drug overdose.
